We are a family owned and operated company and enjoy the pride of handcrafting a product that is made in the United States of America and always will be. Our springs are made by Leggett & Platt, which make springs for all the major companies.

Joe and Rita enjoy now what many years of hard work can do and affords us the luxury of taking the time to answer all your questions and also answer all those "whats and whys" that the grandchildren ask. Together, we have 6 children, 12 grandchildren, 4 greatgrandchildren, 2 dogs, and one cat.

Joe has been in the mattress manufacturing business since 1956. He began learning the trade in his father's family owned mattress business (known as Simmons & Simmons Bedding Company, founded in 1941). Joe partnered with David Behrend and founded Custom Bedding, Inc. in 1976. Joe and David established Custom Bedding to help fill the need for a more personalized service to customers requiring odd size mattess sets. They later began to manufacture prescription, orthopedic, and special designed mattress sets for those who were not satisfied with conventional bedding. In 1994, Joe and David sold their retail store for the dreams of semi-retirement. Joe and his wife, Rita, along with their son opened a factory direct shop in San Leon, Texas. Joe and Rita live on Dickinson Bay, and continue producing special and standard size mattresses.
