A personal note from Joe

I have been hand crafting mattresses from 1956 when I worked in my father's shop, his name is also Joe Alesi (Simmons & Simmons Mattress Co.)  My mother, father, and aunts had been in the mattress industry for many years before I entered the industry. After school each day, I would work in the shop stuffing cotton or down mattresses. 

I strongly suggest that no one alter an antique bed to fit standard bedding on it.  It was made to have a mattress on it somehow.

Price wise - it is no more expensive to have a mattress made. 

And of course all work is guaranteed.

I do not renovate an existing mattress as it would not be cost effective to my customers.
