I have been hand crafting mattresses since 1956 when I worked in my father’s shop, his name was also Joe Alesi (Simmons & Simmons Mattress Co.) My mother, father, and aunts had been in the mattress industry for many years before I entered the custom mattress industry. After school each day, I would work in the shop stuffing cotton mattress or down mattress. Later, when my aunts and father retired, I took over the family business.
